My name is Nerisa Kaloshin and I am from Europe, Czech Republic. I live with my partner and my dog Sheltie in one of the bigger cities.
Everything I know and am interested in would make a long list. I am a scaner, a person who is always looking for new knowledge and ideas.
Besides clothing, I also love singing, gardening, interior design, WordPress website design and branding, playing pc games and reading novels.
I became interested in style around the age of 12 or 13 and never quite let go, even though I already know my own style. I’ve been sharing my knowledge with others since 2016.
How I searched for my style...
The story of finding my style began, as I wrote, at the age of thirteen. At first there was the seasonal color typology, which for a long time made me wrongly think that cool colors suited me. Then I discovered gothic style and wore all black. But eventually it ceased to suit me and I didn’t know how to dress again.
So I gave up and for a couple of years wore what the Czechs call “casual style” – t-shirts, jeans, grey cold colors… I didn’t feel comfortable in it, but I didn’t know how to find my own style. I was quite desperate. A wardrobe full of things I didn’t like, all dull and no proper style.
I started looking more into different styles of dressing, especially in English. I stumbled upon Kibbe’s style typology and switched to a more (theatrical) romantic style.
... until i found it
A stylist in my country created a style typology, something similar to Dressing Your Truth by Carol Tuttle. I was thrilled that it was personality-based, but when I went through her 8 styles, I was left confused. Nothing quite fit, not even the romantic. I tried to push myself into a box, but I couldn’t, there was always something that overlapped. It frustrated me for a long time.
In the end, I gave up on typology and started piecing together my own style and writing about style for others. I also sewed for a while and tried to start my own brand.
Probably the biggest turning point in my style journey came when I abandoned style typologies and especially the seasonal color typology, finally found my colors and designed a capsule wardrobe. As a result, I created my own mix, my own style that fits me and makes me look and feel good.
